Ph.D., P.Eng. Vice President, Research at Trojan Technologies

Ted has been with Trojan Technologies since 1998, and is currently the Vice President, Research. He has led the formation of a world-class research team, helped to develop innovative water treatment technologies and successfully built a global network of external collaboration partners. Prior to joining Trojan, Ted held leadership and technical positions at ABB and RWDI Inc. He obtained his Bachelor's degree from Beijing Institute of Chemical Technologies, and Master and Ph.D. degrees from the University of Toronto. He is a Professional Engineer and an adjunct professor at the Department of Chemical Engineering and Applied Chemistry at the University of Toronto.

Domenico Santoro, Conference Co-Chair

Ph.D. Senior Research Scientist at Trojan Technologies

Domenico Santoro completed his BSc/MSc in Environmental Engineering at the University of Rome, La Sapienza (Italy) in 2001 specializing in water treatment. In 2005, he received his PhD in Environmental Engineering from the Department of Environmental Engineering & Sustainability at the Technical University of Bari (Italy), spending a year as Visiting Research Engineer at Drexel University (USA) to develop CFD models for wastewater disinfection process analysis. Currently, Dr. Santoro holds a dual appointment as Senior Research Scientist at Trojan Technologies (London, ON - Canada) and Adjunct Research Professor in the Department of Chemical and Biochemical Engineering at the University of Western Ontario. His main interests include the development of novel water treatment processes and technologies, with focus on resource recovery from wastewater and holistic water resource management. He has also been very active in initiating and leading research collaborations at global scale working with partners from Canada, Europe, China, Australia and USA. His pioneering work on alternative disinfectants paved the way for the adoption of PAA as environmentally-friendly disinfectant for wastewater disinfection and reuse.
